Partner Testimonials

Over the past 3 years Phoenix Futures have been actively engaging with ELEVATE and the wider Glasgow partnership to support those in Recovery from substance use with their employability and personal development. Since the formulation of the partnership outcomes for Phoenix graduates have vastly improved. For example from the 30 service users completing treatment last year 27 are now in paid employment or volunteering.

We recently supported an Elevate graduate into a role supporting Glasgow’s POP (Positive Outcomes Project), and she is now providing a skilled and confident member of the team.

We continue to see individuals coming through Elevate with confidence and skills, making them marketable in employment and assets to the city.

We initially engaged with Elevate seeing it as a route for individuals towards employment and away from offending, but so much more has been gained, including the opportunity for professionals to link with projects abroad. Elevate is now an important component of the shared Community Justice Outcomes Improvement Plan in Glasgow.

From our perspective, we’ve gained a lot from being part of the partnership including funding to test out our Volunteering Works Programme. We’ve also made many new links and been exposed to new organisations and networks through the PSP that we would not otherwise be engaging with or it would have taken us longer to engage with.

Main benefits for SAMH: widening of our partners network; working on specific projects with other partners; contributing to available supports and solutions for people in recovery, who resign in Glasgow; an opportunity to support participants on Tool for Living course to build their personal skills.

We also recognise that people in recovery have needs that are unlikely to be met on any main stream programmes. We want to avoid people in recovery to be “parked and left” on main stream, if they are looking for work, because they are harder to help.

Oxana MacGregor Gunn, Head of Employment at SAMH

Positive impact for JBG: strengthening of our partner network within the recovery community and Third Sector access shared opportunities, learning and best practise; increased access and awareness of the services being delivered by partners across the city, access to shared learning; opportunity to contribute as one of the founding PSP members to shape and deliver services as part of the asset based approach; opportunity to access partner training for JBG delivery staff and increased referrals into JBG employability and training programmes.

Ivonne Hamilton, Strategic Operations Manager at Jobs & Business Glasgow

Elevate-Glasgow has in a few short years developed an impressive array of services for people in recovery in the city of Glasgow. They have brought together a diverse group of organisations to develop a Pathway for people from chaotic lifestyles to employment and their success rate in this has been exceptional.

The staff team are professional and supportive to the service users with whom they work and this Project is truly life changing for the people with whom they work.
