RECOVERY EMPLOYABILITY SERVICE

RES facilitates employability and vocational activities and offers advice and guidance for individuals looking to get into and sustain employment, offering support and potential for development and training to work towards employment related goals. This empowers participants to work with the advisors on an individual basis to meet their needs and explore how their skills are transferable to opportunities.

RES aims to increase employability opportunities for individuals in recovery and their families affected, reduce the number of adults in recovery who are unemployed and to make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of Glasgow City’s local people, families and communities.

What’s on Offer?

The Young Person’s Recovery Service at GCA supports young people between the ages of 16-24 at various stages of recovery, to work towards reaching positive destinations. Within the service, we have both recovery coaches and employment advisors that offer a wide range of support and always offer a person-centred approach.

Our recovery coaches support young people at the beginning of their recovery journey to build confidence, explore volunteering, identify group activity options, and promote positive destinations. Once the participant feels ready to begin employment or education; our employment advisors are here to help support and prepare the young person for these next steps.

The Young Person’s Recovery Service is available to young people between the ages of 16-24 that are either open to the ADRS (Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service) themselves, or have a parent/guardian that are linked in.
